For many years, Hummervoll Industribelegg has had a quality system that was built on the NS-ISO 9001 standard.
Now the official certification is in place as well.
With effect from 22. January 2013 Hummervoll Industribelegg is certified by DNV in accordance with ISO 9001:2008.
Technical Director at Hummervoll Industribelegg, Jan Arvid Jensen, is pleased: "Especially in international context the ISO certification will be an important documentation of our well proven quality system."
According to the information available to Hummervoll Industribelegg, the company's offshore system HI EP Deck Coat is indeed "best in class".
As a result of revision 6 of NORSOK M501 (Surface preparation and protective coating) Hummervoll has re-tested its core offshore system according to the revised requirements for deck coatings (coating system 4).
The results were convincing:
HI EP Deck Coat performed far better than required. The coating system achieved adhesion of more than 17.5 Mpa, while 5 Mpa are required.
The requirements for corrosion from scribe are set to max. 8 mm. HI EP Deck Coating showed only 1.7 mm, which even meets the requirements for corrosion from scribe for zink-rich primers (max. 3 mm).
Both adhesion and corrosion from scribe are crucial factors for the life expectancy of a coating system.
